Tasmania

INTRODUCTION
The gem of all Tasmania's courses is without doubt Barnbougle Dunes, a links course in the north east of the island where you play amongst towering dunes in a dramatic setting. The views of the wild and unspoilt coastline are spectacular. It has been ranked the 49th best course in the world and is the No.1 public access course in Australia.Barnbougle Dunes, TAS
Kingston Beach, TASTasmania has two other notable courses. Tasmania Golf Club is a spectacular course with panoramic water views and challenging holes. Undulating tree-lined fairways and excellent greens provide an exciting test for the serious golfer. Royal Hobart is the most accessible of all the 'Royal' courses, a tight driving course, which was host to the 1971 Australian Open won by Jack Nicklaus.

The North

Much of the south of Tasmania is made up of National Parkland, most of which has been awarded the status of World Heritage Area. The state capital, Hobart, combines modern city verve with a rich colonial heritage and a serene natural beauty. Visit the ruins of Port Arthur, the 19th century penal colony, and now one of Tasmania's premier tourist attractions. There are many historic and scenic sites in the south such as Richmond and Kingston.

Northern Tasmania is a perfect place to kick back and cruise the back roads at leisure, gawking at sublime scenery enroute - from the majestic beauty of might Cradle Mountain to the tantalising gin-clear waters of east coast beaches. Visit the Bay of Fires, a series of sweeping beaches, rocky headlands, heath lands and lagoons. Wineglass Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula is well worth the hike.
